Titans Start Training Camp With Big Changes

Posted: Updated:

Nashville, Tenn.- Thursday was a big day for the Tennessee Titans. The team hit the practice field at St. Thomas Sports Park for the first day of training camp.

There are lots of changes this year. Five new coaches have joined the team along with 20 new players.

Even the practice facility has a new name switching from Baptist to St. Thomas Sports Park.

For the next two weeks players and coaches will have almost no contact with the outside world. They'll be staying in a hotel and putting in grueling 12 hours days.

As for the team, quarterback Jake Locker does not have to battle for his job this year. He is now the established starting quarterback. Second round Justin Hunter has joined the receiving corps and veteran leadership has been added to the defense.

One notable absence, 10th overall pick Chance Warmack has yet to sign his rookie contract and will hold out of camp until a deal gets done.

Last season the Titans finished with a record of six wins and ten loses which the whole teamed agreed was unacceptable. Now that changes are in place, hopes are high that a winning season is ahead.

Thursday's practice was closed to the public but Friday night's practice is open to the public. You can catch the team on the field starting at 6:30.
