Three Hurt In Two Shootings On Same Block

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Three people were hurt in two separate shootings along the same block overnight just south of downtown Nashville.

Police said the first shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday on Lewis and Robertson Streets. The victims told police they were visiting family in the area. The driver pulled away from the curb when several shots were fired into the car. The 31-year-old male driver was struck in the hand, while the passenger, a 31-year-old woman, was struck in the face when the glass shattered in the car.

The driver took them to a nearby area where the woman's sister lived, and she drove them both to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Just a few minutes later, another shooting happened in the 700 block of Lewis Street. The 31-year-old male victim told police he was shot by two men. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said it was unknown if the two shootings were connected, but said all three victims have multiple drug arrests.

None of the victims live in the neighborhood where the shootings took place.
