MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Funeral services have been set for state Rep. Lois DeBerry.

A graveside service for family members is scheduled for Saturday followed by a legacy celebration at noon.  The celebration is scheduled to take place at First Baptist Church-Broad in Memphis.

Donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Lois M. DeBerry Memorial Fund at the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

DeBerry died Sunday after a long bout with pancreatic cancer. She was 68.

DeBerry was first elected in 1972 and was the longest-serving member of the state House of Representatives and second-longest in the entire Tennessee General Assembly.

She also was the second African-American woman to serve in the General Assembly and the first female speaker pro tempore in the House.
