MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A Murfreesboro mother is speaking out about a terrifying close call involving a man who lives just two doors down.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for that man: 25--year-old Eswin Noe Arevalo.  He's accused of trying to kidnap Kim Coleman's 14-year-old daughter.

"I would never expect for him to try to kidnap my child and I knew he was going to try to rape her," said Coleman.

Witnesses told police that the girl was walking home along Bradyville Pike when Arevalo grabbed her and tried to pull the teen into his home.  Others came to her aid and Arevalo ran away on foot.  That was July 25th and he hasn't been seen since.

"We've investigated this and exhausted our leads and now need help from the public to bring him to justice," said Kyle Evans, with the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Coleman is thankful her daughter escaped, but remains on edge.  She's lost a loved one before.

Five years ago, her niece, 11-year-old Lakeisha White, was killed on Bradyville Pike when she was hit by a car driven by a Rutherford County sheriff's detective.

"I'll do whatever I have to do to protect my child and I mean that," said Coleman who added that she's ready if Arevalo shows his face again in her neighborhood.  Police hope to catch him first and are looking for leads.

Arevalo is described as 5'4", with short black hair with a Mohawk and multiple tattoos including a star above a heart with wings on his right bicep. He drives grey two door Toyota Celica.

Anyone with information is asked to call Murfreesboro Police Criminal Investigations Division at (615) 893-2717.
