Random Act Of Kindness At Madison Auto Shop

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Workers at the Town and Country Ford service center in Madison are still talking about the surprise one customer got last week, when a stranger offered to pay her entire brake repair bill – a random act of kindness that totaled nearly $500.

Michaela Harris took her car into the service center on Thursday, expecting to only have brake work done on two of her brakes, but when she was told all four of her brakes needed work, she told the mechanic that she would only be able to afford work on two of them.

Mechanics said another customer, noting that Michaela was a new mom, went up to the service counter when Michaela wasn't looking and paid for her bill in full.  He then walked away, wishing to remain anonymous.

"I heard of people going through a drive-thru and paying for people behind them, but not something like $473," said Michaela.

"When something like this happens, it's a blessing, and it really gives us hope," said Johnny Gardner with Town and Country Ford.  "It shows us there really are good people in the world."

The stranger was apparently visiting from Florida, and Michaela says she wishes she could have thanked the man in person.
