Man Arrested In Family Dollar Double Shooting

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man wanted in connection with the double shooting outside a Family Dollar store last week surrendered to police Monday night.

Eric Driver, 19, was charged with two counts of attempted criminal homicide.

Police said Driver shot 28-year-old Nicholas Crutcher and 39-year-old John Gant during a fight in the parking lot of the store on West Trinity Lane just before noon last Thursday.

Gant and Crutcher were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the shooting was targeted. They said Crutcher had an ongoing dispute with one of several suspects he crossed paths with outside the store.

Police were able to use surveillance video from the store to trace the car used in the shooting back to him.

Driver was held in lieu of $300,000 bond.
