DENVER – Country music singer and Chris Young has canceled several concerts after being hospitalized with a leg infection in Denver.

A statement from Sony Music Nashville said the symptoms set in while he was en route to Montana for a show Wednesday night. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and will remain in the hospital until at least Thursday.

The origin of the infection was not immediately known, but he was listed in stable condition Wednesday.

The Murfreesboro native was forced to cancel all shows through Saturday, August 17.

"I'm so sorry to disappoint the fans but I didn't even know I was sick," said Chris. "One minute I was fine then suddenly I'm being rushed to the hospital," he continued. "I look forward to being up and around and back on the road."

He was expected to resume touring in Redding, California, on August 21.

Chris Young won Nashville Star in 2006, and is known for hits such as "Getting You Home." He is currently promoting his single "Aw Naw" from his new album, A.M., due to be released September 17.
