No Explosive Device Found In Murfreesboro Home

Posted: Updated:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Several homes were evacuated in a Rutherford County neighborhood after police received a call about a possible explosive device.

Officials from the Murfreesboro Police Department said they were given information just before 2 p.m. Monday about the possible device on the property at 112 S Bilbro Avenue.

Members of the bomb squad were called to the address to investigate the claims, but found nothing suspicious and no device was found.

The Murfreesboro Post reported a woman told police a man at the address had bomb-making materials and threatened to blow her up.

The incident was about a block away from Central Magnet School. Officials determined there was no need for the school to order a lock down or evacuation.
