White House Mayor Comes To The Rescue

Posted: Updated:

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. – White House Mayor Mike Arnold came to the rescue after a cat was stuck in a tree for more than a week.

A cat named Pumpkin was scared up a tree by a dog eight days ago, and his owner couldn't get him down. Nicole Birdwell-Smith said she had to call the fire department, the electric company and the local animal control to try and get Pumpkin down, but no one was able to help.

It was then, that she called Mayor Arnold who came to the rescue.

"He automatically told me -- like it was no big deal -- that he would try, and then he showed up and has actually been following through with what he said, I was very much impressed," said Nicole.

Mayor Arnold climbed up the tree to try and get him down, but it didn't work. They finally put food near the tree and Monday night Pumpkin was back home safe and sound.
