Search for Clues Continues in North Nashville Fatal Armed Robbery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police are continuing to search for solid leads in an armed robbery at the Church and Son market in north Nashville nearly two weeks ago.  During the robbery, police say 50-year-old Darrell Wright was shot and killed.

Darrell's mother Ruby was at church when she learned the news on August 11.

Ruby says Darrell practically grew up at the market, a sentiment that workers there echo.

"We still have a hard time imagining that he's gone," said Augustus "Junior" Church.

Ruby has just one question for those who killed her son.  She says someone in the neighborhood must know something that can help investigators.

"I could just look at them in the face and I would say, ‘Why did you shoot and kill my son?'" Ruby said.

Police say they're looking for two men in their late teens or early 20s in relation to the shooting, both about six feet tall.

Both ran away toward 14th avenue -- one carrying a gun, the other with a knife.

Police say those with information should call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
