Storage Building Destroyed By Fire In Sumner County

Posted: Updated:

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. – Firefighters battled a large fire at a storage building in Portland early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out on Aplin Branch Road just after 2 a.m. The family was sleeping and woke up to find the storage building behind their home fully engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, the fire did not threaten the home, and no one was hurt.

About 20-30 firefighters from nearby cities responded to battle the blaze. There was a concern about a propane tank next to the building, but it turned out to be empty.

The family said they lost personal items, including pictures.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
