Man Shot After Leaving Friend's House In East Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man showed up at the hospital after being shot outside a friend's house in east Nashville late Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old victim told police he had recently returned from college and was hanging out with friends at an apartment complex on Porter Road. When he went to leave around 11 p.m., he said a man came up and pointed a handgun at him, demanding money.

The robber pushed him down, and shot him in the leg. The robber then ran away without getting anything from the victim.

The victim was taken to Skyline Medical Center by private vehicle. His injuries were non-life threatening.

Police responded to the shooting scene on Porter Road, and found a shell casing. They said they have a person of interest in custody for questioning.

No names were immediately released.
