Man Nearly Arrested After Buying Stolen Car On Craigslist

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man nearly got arrested after unknowingly buying a stolen car on Craigslist.

Police said Jim Campbell was tracked down by a GPS unit inside the Chevrolet Blazer he bought online.

After police went to his home in Columbia, he showed them the title, which had been altered.

Police traced the title back to Ricky Whitlow, who placed the Craigslist ad under an alias, and used an old title from a motorcycle that had been totaled.

Whitlow was charged with theft.
