NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt will play eight home games in 2014 with Tennessee capping the season in a return to tradition for the rivals.
Athletic director David Williams said the schedule released Wednesday by the Southeastern Conference was the league's toughest yet with Missouri and Texas A&M and the pending launch of the SEC Network.
Vandy opens with four straight home games starting with Temple on August 28, Mississippi on September 6, Massachusetts on September 13 and South Carolina on September 20. Charleston Southern visits October 11 with Old Dominion on November. 1 and Florida on November 8.
The Commodores visit Kentucky on September 27, Georgia on October 4, Missouri on October 25 and Mississippi State on November 22.
Vandy concludes hosting Tennessee on November 29 in a tradition interrupted in recent years.
