Metro Police Officer Injured In Crash Downtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Metro Police officer riding a scooter was injured in a crash in downtown Nashville early Wednesday afternoon.

Metro Police said the officer was riding on the scooter when he struck a car that pulled out of a metered parking spot along 6th Avenue North at Commerce Street just before noon. 

The officer, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with a broken collarbone.

It was unclear if the other driver was hurt.

Police continued to investigate.
