Lebanon Murder Suspects Taken Into Custody In Michigan

LEBANON, Tenn. – Two men on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted List have been taken in custody in Michigan.

Lebanon Police said 19-year-old Derrick Carr was arrested Thursday morning in Farmington Hills, Michigan, after giving police a fake name during a traffic stop. Carr was a passenger in a car that was stopped for suspicion of DUI.

Police also learned that his accomplice, 20-year-old Shawn Betty, Jr., was in the car with him, but he also lied about his identity and was released.

After a search, U.S. Marshals took Betty into custody in Detroit later Thursday morning.

Both Carr and Betty were indicted earlier this month by the Wilson County Grand Jury for first degree murder, felony first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.

Lebanon Police said the pair shot and killed Andre Logue at a home on Dedman Street on August 10. His friend 26-year old Justin Johnson was also shot, but survived.

Authorities said Carr and Betty are known members of the "Tree Top Bloods" gang.

Carr and Betty were booked into the Oakland County Jail and await extradition to Tennessee.
