Knoxville Dropping Citation Against 'Spider-Man'

Posted: Updated:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Knoxville officials are letting a would-be Spider-Man off the hook.

City Law Director Charles Swanson said a citation against street performer Justin Webb for wearing a Spider-Man costume and mask while hanging around Market Square won't be prosecuted.

Webb told the Knoxville News Sentinel he appreciates the case being dropped and allows him to focus on his performance.

Webb said he's working on two new costumes -- the Lizard and Dr. Octopus. He also raised the prospect of a costumed friend joining him soon.

"We can put together a downtown fight scene," Webb said.
