Four Missing Teens Found Safe In Dickson County

Posted: Updated:

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities in Dickson County said four teens who were reported missing overnight Tuesday were found safely.

Two teenage boys who were reported as runaways on the southside of Dickson were found in Hickman County. Dickson County Sheriff's officials said they received juvenile citation for running away.

Around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Dickson County Sheriff's Department was called to search for a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl who tried to run away. The 13-year-old boy came to the 12-year-old girl's home on Town Branch Road in Charlotte, and they went into the woods.

Authorities said they evidently got lost, and the boy called and texted his parents but would not tell them where they were.

Police were able to track the pair's cell phones, and K-9 safely found them in a wooded lot behind the girl's home around 6 a.m. Neither was believed to be injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol's helicopter, along with Dickson Police and K-9 from the Turney Center assisted in the search.

Authorities do not believe the two cases were connected.
