NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A driver was taken into custody overnight after a police pursuit ended in a crash.

Metro Police attempted to stop a vehicle that was going 80 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone on Briley Parkway. As the officer was talking to the driver, he sped away.

A pursuit was initiated, and the driver got off onto Lebanon Pike. As he turned onto McGavock Pike, the driver lost control and struck a sign in a yard on Crossfield Drive.

Five people in the vehicle jumped out of the car, and ran. Officers pursued on foot, and were able to take the driver into custody without incident.

Police searched for the other four, but they were not located. No one was hurt.

The driver will likely be charged with felony evading and speeding. No identities were released.
