NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police continue to search for a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist seriously injured last month.

Around 1 a.m. on Sunday August 4, 32-year-old Molly Meinbresse was traveling east on the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge when she was struck from behind by a car.

"I think that person is going to have to come forward on their own, I don't think the description is enough for us to find them," Molly said before leaving the hospital on Thursday.

Molly has been through extensive physical therapy and surgeries over the last four weeks. Her injuries range from a broken pelvis, tibia and fibia to some brain damage.

"I had my helmet on and I'm so thankful I did because I think it saved my life," she adds.

It was described as an older model, silver Acura sedan. Police said the car probably has damage to the front end and/or the front passenger side of the vehicle.

"They're trying to get people riding bikes but we need to make sure that Nashville is safe for every bicycle rider," she adds.

Police said her bike was equipped with the proper lighting both in the front and rear of the bicycle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Emergency Communications Center at (615)862-8600, Hit & Run investigators at (615)862-7713, or Crime Stoppers at (615)74-CRIME.
