Two Injured In Head-On Crash On Shute Lane

HERMITAGE, Tenn. – At least two people have been injured in a head-on collision on Shute Lane in Hermitage. The crash forced the road closed in both directions.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said a male driver was traveling eastbound on Shute Lane when he crossed the center line, sideswiped a westbound landscaping truck and then hit a passenger sedan head-on.

The drivers of both vehicles were injured. Both were transported to Summit Medical Center. The exact conditions of the victims were not available.

It was not clear if there were any other injuries.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were on the scene reconstructing the crash for their investigation. 

The roadway has since reopened.
