MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A suspect was arrested after leading officers on a vehicle pursuit in Wilson County. The chase never went over the posted speed limit.

Officials with the Mt. Juliet Police Department said officers attempted to pull over a pickup truck Thursday around 4:15 p.m. that was driving without a license plate on Interstate 40 near mile marker 228.

They said the truck was driven by 28-year-old Justin Gaines from Franklin.

Gaines apparently led police on a 6-mile chase off the interstate at Highway 109 and onto Leeville Pike where he finally pulled over.

Police said Gaines was driving on a suspended license. They also found drug paraphernalia.

There was a warrant out for Gaines' arrest for probation violations in Rutherford County. He was taken into custody and booked into the Wilson County Jail.

Gaines was charged with evading arrest, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
