HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Police believe two men committed similar robberies in Hendersonville and Clarksville over the course of two days.

Officials said two men entered the Daily's Market on East Main Street in Hendersonville on Thursday. One of the men acted as a lookout, while the other went into the office. The manager of the market interrupted him while he was searching the office for money, and the two fled the scene.

The lookout was taken into custody a short distance away from the market. He initially gave officers the name Ernest Covington, and was able to post bond. Later, police identified him through his fingerprints as 62-year-old Berben Harold Walker.

Additional warrants have now been issued against Walker for criminal impersonation, fugitive from justice, and forgery.

Hendersonville Police said the pair also committed a similar crime in Clarksville on Wednesday. In that case, the two men entered the BP on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. The clerk told police that while she was helping another customer, someone went into the cash room and stole $6,000.

Police believe the two men will continue to commit similar crimes at markets.

Police believe Walker and his unidentified accomplice could be driving a white, mid 1990s, small regular cab pickup truck, possible a Ford Ranger.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400. Tips can also be submitted by text to the number 274637 (crimes) using keyword TIPHPD.
