Gas Leak Forces Evacuation At Assisted Living Center

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A section of a Sumner County assisted living center has been evacuated after reports of a gas leak.

Officials said they were called out to the Hearth at Hendersonville assisted living center on 419 E. Main Street after reports of the smell of gas Monday morning.

The smell was in a section of the building known as the Keepsake Cottage. Managers moved residents and staff to the main building as a precausion and called emergency dispatchers. 

Members of the Hendersonville Fire Department and Hendersonville Police Department responded to the scene. 

The one section of the facility was evacuated while crews worked to discover the cause of the leak.

Everyone of the 94 residents at the center was accounted for. There were no reports of injuries.
