Two Arrested For Drug Possession At Nashville Airport

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Failure to stop at a crosswalk at the arrival/departure area led to arrests for drug possession at Nashville International Airport.

Officials with the Airport Police were enforcing safety laws Sunday night when they said 56-year-old Rodney Brown was stopped for failure to stop at two crosswalks. They said Brown was driving a Humvee when he ran two stop signs.

The officer was checking Brown's driver's license. As the officer walked to the back of the car he noticed Brown and his passenger, 32-year-old Taylor Rodriguez, attempting to hide something in the back seat. That's where officers found nearly five pounds of marijuana hidden under a small blanket.

Brown and Rodriguez were arrested and booked into the Davidson County Criminal Justice Center on charges of possession of marijuana with intent for resale. Brown was also charged with driving on a suspended license.

Rodriguez was released on $30,000 bond. Brown was still in jail.

Police were not sure if the drugs were part of a shipment that had just arrived or if it was in the process of being delivered.
