NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Runners who signed up for a promoted mud race in Manchester have learned it has been officially canceled, and no refunds will be offered.

This revelation comes after NewsChannel 5 Investigates tried to find out why runners had not received their refunds after the race was postponed.

The Great American Mud Run was supposed to take place back in July; however, the 5K race was initially postponed until November. At that point, runners were told that they could get a full refund of their registration fee, or race in November.

NewsChannel 5 Investigates has now learned that runners received an email Monday telling them the November race has been canceled, and organizers said no refund will be offered.

Those behind the Great American Mud Run have not returned phone calls or emails, and said in their letter that they do not have the staffing now to do so.

The state Office of Consumer Affairs encourages anyone who signed up for the run to file a complaint by calling (615)741-4737.
