Man Wanted In Cowan Murder Arrested In New Mexico

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One of Tennessee's Top Ten Most Wanted suspects, who had been on the run for nearly six months, has been taken into custody.

According to the Tullahoma News, police arrested David Jenkins during a drug bust Tuesday in New Mexico.

Jenkins was wanted in connection with the murder of Cory Matthews, who was beaten to death in a cornfield in Cowan on March 24. .

Three other men have already been arrested for his murder.

Sheriff's investigators said Matthews and all four suspects had ties to the white supremacy group Aryan Nations, and Matthews was "targeted" in a dispute over the group's doctrine.

It was not clear when Jenkins would be brought back to Tennessee.
