Home Destroyed By Fire In Williamson County

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A home in Williamson County was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.

The home on Bradley Drive, just off Hillsboro Road, was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 2 a.m.

The homeowner said his adult son noticed smoke in the house, and woke him and his wife up. At first they tried to put some water on the flames, but then realized it was too much for them to try to put out.

"We just woke up, found some smoke in the house, investigated, realized the house was catching fire, got out, and called 911," said homeowner Sven Hindmarch.

The family was not hurt.

Firefighters from Williamson County and Franklin sprayed water on the fire from the outside, and worked for several hours to make sure all hot spots were out.

Fire officials believe the blaze started in the attic. Hindmarch said he believed it started in a ventilation fan in the bathroom, but the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

The Red Cross responded to help the family, who said they have insurance and plan to rebuild.

They had lived in the home for nearly 20 years.
