CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting deaths of four people in a car in the former Renegade Mountain resort in Cumberland County.

TBI Director Mark Gwyn said in a press conference Friday that Jacob Allen Bennett was arrested on a parole violation in Rhea County late Thursday.  Gwyn said law enforcement officials "believe that we have the person that committed these crimes."

A car containing the bodies was discovered by a resident of the community about 50 miles west of Knoxville on Thursday morning. The victims were identified as 22-year-old Danielle Jacobson, 16-year-old John Lajeunesse and two 17 year olds, Steven Presley and Dominic Davis.

Their bodies have been taken to the medical examiner's office for autopsy.

Law enforcement officials declined to discuss any possible motives for the shootings.

The community is on 3,000 wooded acres, about 50 miles west of Knoxville.

The Renegade Mountain Resort was built in 1969 as part of a gated community, and at one time had a lounge, restaurant, lodge and ski slope. The lodge burned down in 2000.

Moore said the community's owners got rid of the controlled access in 2010.

A post on the Renegade Mountain Facebook page said, in part: "There was a multiple murder with in Renegade Resort earlier this morning. Full time residents passing the area will be stopped and questioned As to who they are and what they are doing here, then allowed to travel on. Anyone with knowledge of a blue car sitting about 100 feet into the Eagle's nest lower entrance is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff's office at once."
