GALLATIN, Tenn. – A second suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a Sumner County city's first homicide in three years.

Officials with the Gallatin Police Department said 30-year-old George Humphrey has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Rameon Wilson.

The arrest came after an indictment from the Sumner County Grand Jury.

Another suspect, Keanthony Dillard, was arrested in May and has been held at the Sumner County Jail awaiting trial for Wilson's murder.

Investigators said Dillard was known to associate with gangs in the Nashville area and has a previous history of armed robbery, assault, and drug charges.

Police found Wilson on April 15 with a gunshot wound to the head outside of an apartment building at the Greenwood Apartments on Green Wave Drive in Gallatin.

Wilson was transported by LifeFlight medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died the following day.

Investigators initially said the shooting appeared to be personal.

"We believe there is some gang related activity surrounding this shooting and another one that happened the same night," said Officer Bill Storment.

Even with a $1,000 dollar reward for information leading to the person responsible, Gallatin police had a hard time finding any early leads in the case.

"A vehicle description, a car tag, some piece of information that might help us put the pieces of the puzzle together and lead us to the person responsible for this homicide," said Storment.

Details about the circumstances leading to Humphrey's arrest were not available. Information about his possible involvement in the shooting was not released.

He was held without bond at the Sumner County Jail, pending his first court appearance.
