Police Respond To Multiple Fake Emergency Calls

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police responded to five emergency calls describing out of control gang violence Monday morning, all of which were a prank.

Officials with the Nashville Police Department said they responded to five different emergency calls describing out of control, armed gang members at an apartment complex. Police said the false reports were the result of a man who was angry with his girlfriend.

Police responded to 911 calls for help at an apartment complex on Buena Vista in Nashville. Each of the emergency calls claimed armed gang members burst into one of the apartments. When police responded, each time they found the female tenants safe and asleep.

Police traces of the 911 calls lead them to a suspect who reportedly admitted he made the false calls to get back at his girlfriend.

He was booked on felony charges for filing false police reports.
