COLUMBIA, Tenn. - A Maury County woman has been arrested and charged with stalking her doctor.

Janet Gayle King was accused of stalking her gynecologist beginning back in 2000 to 2002 - sending him letters, among several other things.

Investigators said she stopped for 10 years, but picked back up in October 2012. King was arrested and bonded out of jail Friday.

No one came to the door at King's house when a reporter with NewsChannel 5 knocked, but someone was seen in a van speeding out of the garage shortly afterwards.

The Maury County Sheriff's department would not release what was in the letters King sent to her gynecologist, Dr. Samuel Kuykendall, because they are sensitive in nature.

The detective said Kuykendall, whose office is in Columbia, tried to handle the matter in civil court, but it turned criminal when investigators said King violated a protective order in July.

She was arrested, and the sheriff's department has been investigating ever since. She was arrested again on Friday, charged with two felony stalking counts, and one count of misdemeanor stalking.

Kuykendall did not return request for comment.
