Vanderbilt Students Robbed at Gunpoint

Posted: Updated:

Nashville, Tenn. - Two men gave three Vanderbilt students a big scare after robbing them at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

The first of two robberies happened at 3:38 a.m. as two students left the Sarratt Student Center.

Campus police say they were approached by two men. One had a gun and ordered them down to the ground. The men stole a backpack and a laptop.

The second robbery took place on Jess Neely Drive. One student told police the men chased him until he dropped his backpack. Police say the men took it and left.

Shortly after, all students received a mass security notice email from campus police letting them know what happened.

A campus security camera caught the getaway car on tape. It is described as a late model four door silver sedan with a dark trim strip on the doors and with a missing left front hubcap.

If you have any information about what happened , call campus police or Metro police at 862-8600.
