Franklin Police Take 12 Drug Dealers Off Streets

Posted: Updated:

FRANKLIN, Tenn.  - Franklin Police say 12 drug dealers are behind bars and more than two dozen cases closed after "Operation Wakeup."

The charges against those arrested range from delivery of marijuana to selling crack cocaine near Franklin's schools and parks.

Several of the suspects have now been banned from public housing by officials with the Franklin Housing Authority.

The arrests took place early Wednesday morning.

Franklin Police say the name "Operation Wakeup" stems from the fact that they want all drug dealers to wake up and realize that their activity is neither welcome, nor wanted in Franklin neighborhoods.
