SPRING HILL, Tenn. - The General Motors plant in Spring Hill announced today the addition of a second shift to it's new assembly line resulting in 100 new jobs.

The jobs will be helping make the new Ecotec four-cylinder engine.

Currently, plans call for filling some of the positions through internal candidates. The remaining available positions will be hired through a pool of pre-qualified applicants outside the plant.

Hiring will begin in January 2014 but could continue through the year.

GM plans to eventually add two more vehicles to the Spring Hill Assembly line by 2015 adding 1,800 workers.
