Jackson Police Arrest Two After Shooting

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - Two men have been arrested after what Jackson police describe as a drug deal gone.

Capt. Tyreece Miller said investigators responded to gunshots Friday night and found 29-year-old Jacob Crossett of Jackson lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to both legs.

Crossett gave officers a description of the alleged shooters and what they were driving. Miller says 23-year-old Preston Gray of Enville, 36-year-old Allen Evans, of Chicago were found a short time later and arrested.

Miller said investigators determined that Crossett met with Gray and Evans for a drug deal and, when it went bad, Evans shot Crossett in both legs.

Crossett was released from the hospital around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Evans and Gray will be arraigned at 8 a.m. Monday in Jackson City Court.
