NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police arrested a former Donelson Christian Academy teacher on a 14-count grand jury indictment on Monday night.

57-year-old David G. Turner was charged with aggravated sexual battery against two minor students who were ages seven and eight.

Sex Crimes Unit detectives began the investigation of Turner back in February after learning the victims told their parents that Turner had inappropriately touched them while they were in school.

Following the allegations, Turner was placed on indefinite leave from the school.

DCA Headmaster Keith M. Singer sent an email to families Tuesday morning saying, in part:

"This is extremely difficult news for any community. We will, however, move forward with the best interests of our students and families at the center of all we do. As a community of faith, we continue to pray for those who have been impacted by this situation."

It went on to say that the school has connected with local counselors to provide confidential counseling services.

The former teacher was held in the Metro Jail on a $150,000 bond.
