NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A new Nashville restaurant is putting a musical twist on pizza.

Music City Pizza will allow local artists and non-profit organizations to design menu items, and then receive part of the profits.  Owner Keith Hayman said the so-called "record deals" are a way to help local musicians and groups that make Music City so special.

"We want to support local musicians and businesses and charities like no other business has in the country," said Hayman.

The menu will feature pizzas, pastas, salads and will change every three months so additional musicians can participate.

The musical theme is apparent throughout the entire restaurant.  The artwork features musicians from Nashville, the side of pizza oven doubles as a screen for music videos, and there is a stage for live music.

Local musicians said they appreciate the opportunity to be involved, and they hope the concept catches on.

"Even in the restaurant industry, there are people willing to help musicians in Nashville," said Alanna Quinn-Broadus, a local musician.  "That is what makes Nashville unlike anywhere else in the world."

The restaurant will celebrate its official grand opening in three weeks.
