Armed Robbery Suspect Forces Way Into Antioch Sonic

ANTIOCH, Tenn. – Police have been searching the armed suspect who they said forced his way into an Antioch Sonic restaurant and demanded money.

The robbery happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sonic on 2787 Murfreesboro Pike.

Officials said the suspect tried unsuccessfully to enter through a back door. He then went around to the front door where he shot out the glass and forced his way into the building where employees were working.

Employees told police the man demanded money and left after they gave him what they had.

The suspect fled the area on foot.

No one was injured in the incident. 

Captain Kenneth Walburn with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the robbery was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators were on the scene gathering evidence. They said the suspect tried to conceal his identity. He was wearing a black hoodie, black shorts, black ski mask, and latex gloves.
