Suspect Wanted In Attempted East Nashville Robbery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have asked the public's help in identifying a suspect they said attempted to rob a convenience store in East Nashville.

Officials with the Nashville Police Department said the attempted robbery occurred at the Shell convenience store located at 1001 Shelby Avenue in East Nashville.

Police said the suspect implied he had a handgun and fled the store empty handed.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his mid-20s with a teardrop tattoo next to his left eye. He was said to be 5-foot-nine inches tall and weighed 180 pounds.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or by texting the word, CASH along with their message to 274637.
