NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Davidson County woman has a warning for motorists after a suspect took advantage of her when she tried to help him on the side of the road.

Lisa Boldin and her daughter recently stopped on Old Hickory Boulevard off of Interstate 24 after a man waved them down.

"I thought he looked like he might need some medical help," said Boldin.

After stopping, she kept the door locked, but rolled down the window to talk to the man. When she turned to look at her daughter in the backseat, the suspect reached through the window, opened the door, and jumped into the passenger seat.

Boldin said he then told her he needed money.

"It was very scary," said Boldin. "I didn't know if he was armed. The man never showed a weapon."

Fearing for her and her three-year-old daughter's safety, she went to a nearby ATM and got money for the suspect. He jumped from the car and into a waiting gold Ford Expedition.

"Shock became anger," said Boldin.

She followed the Expedition to a truck stop where she confronted the suspect inside the market. Boldin said the suspect seemed surprised when she confronted him in the store with other people. She said he ran off before police could arrive.

Boldin filed a police report. She wanted other motorists to be aware the suspect was still out there trying to intimidate people into getting him money.

There have been other reports of him trying to stop motorists for help.

Boldin described him as a white, balding male about 50-years-old.
