Teen Walking Down Sidewalk Robbed, Shot In Ankle

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have been searching for the suspects who they said robbed and shot a teenager as he was walking down the street in a neighborhood near Boyd Park in Nashville.

Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called to the 3900 block of Alameda Street around 8 p.m. Thursday in investigate. 

They said the teen was walking down the sidewalk on when he was approached by two suspects in a vehicle. They demanded money and then shot the teen once in the ankle.

Emergency medical technicians from the Nashville Fire Department were called to the scene to treat the teen's injuries.

The victim was transported by ground to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Investigators said the suspects drove off after the shooting.

Several officers were on the scene conducting an investigation and talking to neighbors to determine if anyone saw what happened.

Crime scene tape was put up to block off the sidewalk as they searched for clues.

The victim's identity was not released. Police did not say if the teen knew his attackers or if he was able to give them a description of the suspects.
