No Charges For Driver Who Struck Pedestrian

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The driver who struck and injured a pedestrian on Dickerson Pike will likely not face charges.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a man was walking in the street and carrying a bag of groceries at the intersection of Dickerson and Hillhurst Drive around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was not in a crosswalk.

The driver of a car slammed on their brakes to avoid hitting the pedestrian. A second vehicle switched lanes to avoid the first car during the incident and struck the victim.

Southbound lanes of Dickerson Pike were closed while emergency medical technicians tended to the injured man. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Officials said the man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle sustained damage to the windshield.
