NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After receiving an award from the National Arbor Day Foundation about two dozen students spent a rainy Sunday morning planting trees around TSU's campus.

"It's helping the environment and helping your school look better, it's more vibrant with different kinds of trees," said Tia who is a freshman studying nursing at the school.

TSU along with Trevecca Nazarene University were both recently recognized as having more than 30 different varieties of trees on campus.

With a grant from the foundation, close to 36 trees were planted on Sunday.
