Man Suffers Minor Burn In House Fire

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man suffered minor injuries after waking up to find his home on fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire was believed to have started in the kitchen, and spread to other parts of the home on 22nd Court North around 1:30 a.m. First responders reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the home when they got on the scene.

The homeowner said he woke up to a tingling on his arm, and found he had suffered a minor burn. He was able to get out of the house, and go to a neighbor's home to call for help.

He did not go to the hospital for treatment.

Fire crews struggled to move through the house because they had to crawl over clothes and boxes.

The back half of the home suffered major damage, but it was not a total loss. The Red Cross was called to the scene to help the displaced resident.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, but the Fire Marshal believed it was electrical.
