DICKSON, Tenn. - Several middle Tennessee small businesses are competing for some big exposure courtesy of a starring role in a Super Bowl commercial.

Intuit, the financial software company, is hosting the nationwide online contest.  The winner will receive a free 30 second Super Bowl commercial.

Reading Rock Books in downtown Dickson is one of many area businesses hoping to win.

"It would be amazing," said Laura Hill, Co-owner and Manager of Reading Rock Books. "I would love to think the little bookstore in Dickson could make it to the Super Bowl."

Hill, along with co-owner Amy Jernigan, have submitted information about their business, and also made a video showing off the store.  They are banking on support from customers to help them make it to the next round.

"We've had people say ‘I'm voting every day,'" said Hill.  "We've had a lot of support."

Hill and Jernigan said a win would bring priceless exposure to the city of Dickson and bookstores everywhere.

"It means a great deal to show people the written word is still here," said Amy Jernigan.  "People still want to read books, hold books and look at them."

Voting continues until Oct. 13, and then the pool of applicants will be narrowed down to just 20 nationwide.  A team of Intuit employees will then narrow the top 20 to the top four.  Popular vote will determine the ultimate winner that will be featured in the Super Bowl commercial Feb. 2.
