Posted: Updated:

LEBANON, Tenn. – A possible meth lab exploded and blew the wall out of a Wilson County motel room Saturday night.

The explosion occurred around 7 p.m. at the Travel Inn Motel located at 914 Murfreesboro Road in Lebanon.

Chief Scott Bowen with the Lebanon Police Department said there was an explosion on the second floor of the motel. Chief Bowen said two suspects were trying to make meth inside the room when the ingredients exploded.

Witnesses said the inside wall buckled into the room on the other side and came to a rest on the balcony railing.

Technicians were brought in to clean-up the chemicals in the area. Police said officials with the Meth Task force would be brought in to further investigate the explosion.

Officials said the two suspects have not yet been caught.

No one was hurt in the explosion.
