LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles firefighters have rescued two more victims from a residential high-rise after a midday fire.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said a child and an adult were found on the 23rd floor.

Two other residents were taken to hospitals earlier due to smoke exposure, and Humphrey says firefighters have encountered others in and outside the building with minor to moderate respiratory complaints.

The blaze was reported at 11:43 a.m. Friday in one unit on the 11th floor of the 25-story Barrington Plaza on Wilshire Boulevard.

Heavy smoke and flames poured from the building as more than 200 firefighters responded.

The blaze was declared out in 71 minutes but firefighters continued to search the building.

Humphrey said some residents on upper floors didn't evacuate.

The tower has nearly 400 units.
