NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police K-9s helped officers arrest two convicted felons during a burglary at a business in Madison overnight.

Police said a citizen called in to report two men burglarizing the Hair World on Gallatin Pike South just after midnight.

A detective arrived and spotted one of the men trying to flee with a bag of merchandise. The man ignored the detective's order to stop and ran back inside the business.

Both men refused to leave the building, so K-9 units were brought in to help apprehend the burglars.

The two men received injuries from the K-9s during apprehension, and were transported to Metro General hospital with minor injuries.

Police then booked 29-year-old Brian Wiseman and 31-year-old Acel Pope, Jr. on burglary charges.

Wiseman was convicted of robbery in 2011 and sentenced to six years. He also has prior convictions for forgery, theft and domestic assault.

Police said Wiseman was also charged with with criminal impersonation for giving officers a false name.

Wiseman was held in lieu of $45,000 bond. Pope, who has a previous drug possession conviction, was held on $25,000 bond.
