MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - There is a possible major break in the two-decades-old mystery of a murdered young nurse. Police have discovered a key piece of evidence in the old file.

"This is newly recovered video," said Murfreesboro cold case detective Tommy Massey.  He said the video was taken 22 years ago by police at the scene of where the victim's body was discovered.

Twenty-one-year-old Pamela Miracle disappeared on July 25, 1991.  Her body was later found dumped off Rocky Fork Road in Smyrna.

Massey opened the confidential case file and released the exclusive video to NewsChannel 5.

Massey said that a portion of the video -- which was not released -- provides crucial new information that may finally lead police to the killer.  He said it could be the last piece to a puzzle.

"You get to the point where you're stuck. You need one piece to make it all work," said Massey.

Massey hopes to find and question Miracle's boyfriend Clarence Parker.  He was the last person to see her alive and remains the prime suspect in the case.  He was questioned after Miracle's body was discovered, but never charged in the case.

"Any small piece of information could be critical to us," said Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Dept.   Evans said detectives hope someone remembers something about Parker and Miracle from back in 1991.

The couple often went to the Wind Mill Bar in Murfreesboro at the corner of Thompson and Broad.  The bar has long since been torn down, but back in 1991 that's where police found Miracle's abandoned car.

Cold case detectives and district attorney Bill Whitesell decided to release the police video and details from the confidential case file hoping it generates additional leads to help close the cold case.
